€25k Awarded to Five Louth Organisations for Local Integration Projects
Louth Organisations Receive €25k in Communities Integration Fund 2024
Five community-based organisations in Louth have been awarded €5,000 each under the Communities Integration Fund 2024, as announced today by Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth, Roderic O’Gorman.
The funding supports local initiatives aimed at integrating migrants and refugees. The beneficiaries and their projects are:
• An Táin Arts Centre: Why are you here?
• Autism Support Louth & Meath: Autism Support Ukrainian Translation Project
• Development Perspectives: Momentum
• Oriel Traditional Orchestra: Music as Pathway to Integration
• Street Feast CLG: Street Feast Together
Minister O’Gorman expressed confidence that the fund would bolster community efforts to welcome and integrate new residents. Louth TD Fergus O’Dowd highlighted the county’s significant role in supporting migrants and refugees and anticipates positive outcomes from the funded projects.
The Communities Integration Fund, initiated in 2017 under the Migrant Integration Strategy, allocated over €500,000 in 2024 to support local projects across Ireland. Proposals were categorized under themes such as Intercultural Awareness, Combating Racism and Xenophobia, and Arts, among others.
