Dromiskin Golfer Caolan Rafferty Joins Elite British and Irish Team for St. Andrew’s Trophy in Wales

Top local amateur Caolan Rafferty has earned his place on the prestigious British and Irish team for the upcoming St. Andrew’s Trophy in Wales. This event, taking place on the 25th and 26th of this month at Royal Porthcawl, will feature the best amateurs from Ireland and Britain facing off against their counterparts from continental Europe.

Rafferty’s selection is a testament to his outstanding recent form, which includes a victory at the County Louth Club over the June Bank Holiday weekend. As one of the top five ranked British and Irish amateurs in the World Amateur Rankings, his place on the team was all but guaranteed.

In addition to his selection for the St. Andrew’s Trophy, Rafferty has also been chosen to represent Ireland in the European Amateur Championships, starting next Tuesday. This follows his triumph at the prestigious East of Ireland Championship in Baltray last month, marking an impressive start to the summer for the Dundalk club member and Dromiskin native.
