Aldi Ireland Issues Urgent Recall for Popular Water Products Due to Potential Contamination
Aldi Ireland has issued an urgent recall for several of its popular water products due to the possible presence of “visible particles” in the bottles. The recall, prompted by the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI), affects both still and sparkling water products sold in Aldi stores nationwide.
The recall stems from potential damage to the filtration system at the water bottling facility, which may have led to contamination of the water with visible particles. The affected products include a range of Comeragh Irish Still and Sparkling Spring Water bottles, with specific batches being recalled as a precautionary measure.
The recalled products are as follows:
• Comeragh Irish Still Spring Water (5-litre bottles) with all best-before dates up to and including February 6, 2026.
• Comeragh Irish Still Spring Water (packs of six 2-litre bottles) with all best-before dates up to and including February 6, 2026.
• Comeragh Irish Sparkling Spring Water (packs of six 2-litre bottles) with all best-before dates up to and including February 6, 2026.
• Comeragh Irish Still Spring Water (packs of 24 500ml bottles) with all best-before dates up to and including February 6, 2026.
The FSAI has instructed retailers to immediately remove the affected batches from sale and to display recall notices at points of sale. Consumers are advised not to consume the implicated products and to return them to the store of purchase for a full refund.
The recall notice serves as a precautionary measure to ensure public safety, and the FSAI has emphasized the importance of adhering to the recall to avoid any potential health risks.
Customers are urged to check their purchases and take necessary action if they have bought any of the affected water products.
