All Systems Go for Armoy Road Races 2024
The much-anticipated Armoy Road Races are set to return to County Antrim this summer, with the event scheduled for July 26th and 27th
Drawing world-class riders and thousands of fans each year, this annual spectacle promises exhilarating competition and a vibrant atmosphere.
Launch Event at Bayview Hotel
On Wednesday, June 19th, the Armoy Motorcycle Road Racing Club (AMRRC) held a launch event at the Bayview Hotel in Portballintrae to introduce this year’s sponsors. Trevor Kane, the hotel’s owner and title sponsor of the Race of Legends, hosted the gathering, which included esteemed guests such as Councillor Ciaran McQuillan, Mayor of Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council. Chairman and Clerk of Course, William Munnis, outlined this year’s schedule and expressed gratitude to those who contribute to the event’s success.
Meet the Riders
Attendees had the chance to meet prominent road racers like Dominic Herbertson, Jeremy McWilliams, Ryan Whitehall, and Neil Kernohan. Reflecting on the event, William Munnis remarked on its 15-year journey:
“The Armoy Road Races have grown into a hugely successful event, attracting global riders and fans. This year, we anticipate strong competition, with entries closing on June 24th. We’re thrilled to welcome riders from Germany, France, and beyond.”
Munnis also acknowledged the vital role of sponsors in sustaining the event:
“Our sponsors are indispensable. Thanks to local businesses and individuals, including Hilton Car Sales, Ian Hickinson, James McKillop, Raymond Hodges and TT Racing, BDS Motorcycles, the Diamond Bar, the Mermaid Club, MJF Builders, Causeway Geotech, Fay Stewart, Taggart’s Barn, Park Electrical Services, Brap Moto, and the Bayview Hotel. We also welcome new sponsors AP Louden and John M Paterson Ltd this year.”
Racer Highlights
Dominic Herbertson, a regular competitor at Armoy, shared his excitement:
“The Armoy Road Races are a highlight of the Irish road racing calendar. I’ll be competing in the Open, Supersport, and Race of Legends classes for Burrows Engineering / RK Racing. The competition is always fierce, but I’m ready for the challenge and aiming for podium finishes.”
This year’s lineup features top riders such as TAS Racing’s Davey Todd, Jamie Coward with KTS, Derek Shiels, Mike Sweeney, and Mike Browne on an Aprilia bike—marking its debut at Armoy.

Event Details
Bike Week kicks off on Sunday, July 21st, with races scheduled for Friday, July 26th, and Saturday, July 27th, culminating in the Bayview Hotel’s Race of Legends. The event is partially funded by the Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council.
