Louth Secures Historic All-Ireland Quarter-Final Spot with Dramatic Win Over Cork

Colman Corrigan: Cork Must Seize Opportunity Against Louth in Preliminary Quarter-Final

Two-time Cork All-Star Colman Corrigan believes the Cork footballers have drawn the best possible match-up for the All-Ireland preliminary quarter-final, urging them to take full advantage of this opportunity against Louth. Two-time Cork All-Star Colman Corrigan believes the Cork footballers have drawn the best possible match-up for the All-Ireland preliminary quarter-final, urging them to take full advantage of this opportunity against Louth.

Corrigan noted that while Louth will pose a significant challenge, facing them is preferable to potentially tougher fixtures against Mayo in Castlebar or Galway in Salthill.

Corrigan highlighted the importance of Cork capitalizing on this draw, especially given their recent mixed results against Louth. He emphasized the need for Cork to start strong and have their leaders step up, particularly in the absence of key player Brian Hurley.

Reflecting on Cork’s recent defeat to Tyrone, Corrigan pointed out the team’s struggles in crucial periods and stressed the importance of better game management to avoid past mistakes. Despite the favorable draw, he cautioned that Cork must deliver a strong performance to secure victory and progress to the All-Ireland quarter-finals.

The match takes place at Grattan Park in Inniskeen, Co Monaghan with a 3.00pm throw-in on Sunday.

The game will not be broadcast on terrestrial tv. It will however be available to stream on GAAGO and live commentary will be available on LMFM radio
