County Louth Train Users Warned of Belfast Service Disruptions Due to Scheduled Works
Train services between Dublin and Belfast will experience disruptions starting Wednesday due to scheduled works on the line.
The railway will be closed between Lisburn and Belfast from Wednesday, July 1st, to Sunday, August 25th, to facilitate the opening of the new Belfast Grand Central Station.
Key changes during this period include:
• The weekday 9:35 PM service from Belfast to Dublin Connolly will be rescheduled to 8:05 PM.
• The Saturday 9:38 PM service will also be moved to 8:05 PM.
Irish Rail announced that Enterprise services will operate as normal between Connolly and Portadown during this time. Passengers traveling to and from Lurgan, Moira, and Lisburn can use local Translink NI Railways services between Portadown and Lisburn.
Additionally, bus transfers will be available between Newry and Belfast throughout the disruptions.
On the August bank holiday weekend (Saturday, August 3rd to Monday, August 5th), further engineering works between Malahide/Drogheda and Belfast/Newry will halt all train services between Malahide and Belfast.
During this period, bus transfers will replace Enterprise services between Connolly and Belfast, with stops at Drogheda/Dundalk and Newry. Travelers to Portadown will need to change services at Newry.
Furthermore, Dundalk, Drogheda, Laytown, Gormonston, Balbriggan, Skerries, Rush & Lusk, and Donabate stations will be closed, affecting Northern commuter services from Dundalk/Drogheda.
A limited bus service between Drogheda and Connolly will be in operation during these closures.
