Ardee News and Sport — Enniskerry, County Wicklow – The Irish National 3D Championships took place over the weekend, hosted by Wicklow Archers at their renowned Dargle Valley range. The challenging course saw archers from across Ireland compete, but it was CúChulainn Archers who stole the show, bringing home an impressive haul of medals

Five archers represented CúChulainn Archers: Kevin Flynn, Neil Keeble, Hugh Murphy, Siobhan Keeble, and Emma Crosbie. Their outstanding performances resulted in a total of 2 Gold, 2 Silver, and 1 Bronze medal. Notably, Neil Keeble, fresh off the World 3D Championships in Slovenia, claimed Gold in the Senior Male Barebow category. His wife, Siobhan Keeble, also shone by taking Gold in the Master Female Barebow category.

In other results:

• Hugh Murphy secured Silver in Masters Male Compound.

• Emma Crosbie, competing in her first 3D Championships with a Longbow (usually a Compound archer), took home Silver.

• Kevin Flynn earned Bronze in the Senior Recurve category.

Meanwhile, in Lisburn, CúChulainn Archers were competing in the Ballyvally Archers Banbridge Open Field Championships, where the club’s compound archers made a clean sweep in their category. Alan Convery won Gold, Philip Fitzpatrick claimed Silver, and Gilbert McClelland took Bronze in Senior Compound. Peter Gilmore added to the medal count with Gold in Masters Barebow.

With every CúChulainn archer competing over the weekend medalling, it was a remarkable achievement for the club.

In related news, CúChulainn Archers are expanding their reach, opening in Drogheda at the O’Raghallaigh’s GFC on North Road. Due to significant interest, a “Have-a-Go” day has been scheduled for October 26th from 12:30 to 2:30 pm, at just €3 per person. This event is open to all ages and abilities, offering a fantastic introduction to the sport.
