Strong Medal Haul for CúChulainn in Waterford

On Saturday, February 1st, eleven members of CúChulainn Archers made the journey from across the country to Waterford to compete in one of the biggest events of the indoor archery season—the Irish Field Archery Federation’s Indoor Nationals 2025.

The competition was hosted by Na Laoch Dall at the SETU West Campus in Carriganore, Co. Waterford, widely regarded as one of the best indoor archery venues in Ireland.

The CúChulainn team delivered an outstanding performance, bringing home an impressive tally of seven medals, including three gold, one silver, and three bronze, as well as a fourth-place finish. The level of competition was particularly fierce, especially in the Senior Male Compound Unlimited category, where only eight points separated the top seven archers.

Special Recognition for Peter Gilmore

Peter Gilmore, fresh off his gold medal win, was also honored with an incredible seven Irish Field Records, acknowledging his dominance over the past year. A huge achievement for both him and CúChulainn Archers!

In addition, Neil Keeble and Éamonn Rogers were presented with their Gold Gain Pins, marking another proud moment for the club.

The event received unanimous praise from all competitors, with the Na Laoch Dall club earning high marks for their excellent organization and use of the world-class SETU West Campus facility.

Flint Round Challenge – Sunday, February 2nd

Three CúChulainn archers returned to Waterford the next day to compete in a flint round, a unique and demanding format where archers must shoot from various distances across the hall. Precision and adaptability are key in this test of skill.
