The Drift Masters European Championship (DMEC) is thrilled to announce its return to Mondello Park for Round 2 of the 2024 season.

Set against the scenic backdrop of Ireland’s premier motorsport venue and the home of Irish drifting, this event promises a weekend of high-octane action on the legendary track. Drift enthusiasts can expect an electrifying display of skill and speed as top international drivers compete for championship points and glory.
Meet the Drivers
The lineup features reigning champion Conor Shanahan from Cork, determined to retain his title after a challenging start in Valencia. Joining him are international stars like Adam LZ (USA), Ryusi Akiba (Japan), Joakim Andersson (Sweden), Diego Correia (Portugal), and Steve ‘Baggsy’ Biagioni (UK). Adding to the excitement, Poland’s Piotr Wiecek, who previously clinched victory at Mondello Park, is also set to compete.
Irish talents such as Jack Shanahan, Duane McKeever, Fionn Roche, and the emerging Conor Falvey will showcase their skills on home turf. Additionally, Cork’s own James ‘The Machine’ Deane returns as a wildcard entry, bringing his experience from competing in Formula Drift in the US. “Returning to Mondello Park is always a highlight of the season for me,” Deane said. “The fans here are incredible, and the track really tests our skills. I’m looking forward to putting on a great show.”
Fan Experience
This year’s event steps up to another level with a variety of fan opportunities, including paddock access and meet-and-greets with drivers. Attendees can also enjoy numerous food stalls, merchandise villages, luxury glamping with bell tents, a pamper parlour, and a private bar.
The challenging reverse layout of Mondello Park, known for its technical corners and sweeping bends, promises spectacular battles and edge-of-the-seat excitement for motorsport fans. “The track’s unique reverse configuration is both loved and loathed by drivers, making it the perfect arena to showcase precision and skill,” said Managing Director Roddy Greene. “We’re excited to bring Drift Masters Round 2 here. The atmosphere is electric, and fans travel from all over the world to be part of it. It’s fantastic to have an event of this scale in Ireland.”

Following Mondello Park, Round Four will take place at Bishopscourt Airfield near Downpatrick in August 2024, continuing the thrilling championship series.
