Hickman and Todd Shine in Isle of Man TT Qualifying

Peter Hickman and Davey Todd showcased their prowess during the Isle of Man TT qualifying week, setting the pace in their respective classes. Hickman clocked the fastest lap of the week in the Superstock class, hitting a speed of 134.638 mph on Friday night.

Davey Todd topped the practice leaderboard for the Superbikes with an impressive lap of 133.942 mph, completed in 16 minutes and 54.079 seconds on his Milwaukee BMW. This lap unofficially marks his fastest at the TT event to date.

Hickman, who holds the absolute lap record for the Mountain Course at 136.358 mph—set last year on his way to a double victory in Superstocks—completed his lap in 16 minutes and 48.837 seconds, trailing his record time by over six seconds. The FHO Racing BMW rider has dominated the 1000cc TT races, winning 10 out of the last 13, spanning Superbikes and Superstocks.

In the Superstocks, Todd holds the second-best time of the week with a lap at 132.976 mph, while Michael Dunlop, on his Honda, follows closely with a lap of 132.674 mph. Todd, who has one podium finish at the TT (a third place in the 2022 Superstock race), is a strong contender for a maiden win this year. The Yorkshireman has consistently secured podium finishes in every race he has completed this season, including a hat-trick at the North West 200 road races and victories in British Superstock events at Oulton Park and Donington.

In the Superbike class, Hickman stands second with a lap of 133.851 mph, just behind Todd. Dunlop follows at 132.728 mph, with Dean Harrison close behind at 132.596 mph. Dunlop, who is one win shy of his late uncle Joey’s all-time record of 26 wins, also leads the Supersport class with a lap at 127.649 mph and tops the Supertwins with a lap of 121.882 mph set on Friday evening.

The final qualifying session is scheduled for Saturday morning, with the first race of the week, Supersport Race One, set to start at 13:30 BST.
