His funeral in Northern Ireland drew over 50,000 mourners, symbolising the vast global reach of his influence. On this special anniversary, devoted fans, family, and friends converged once more in his hometown to honour the man who transcended sporting boundaries.
Heritage on display
Central to the day’s events was the display of one of Dunlop’s iconic race bikes, curated by a private collector. “We felt privileged to bring one of his machines out for the day,” said the collector, underscoring the deep emotional and historical significance the bike holds for many attendees.

Dunlop was not only a force on the track — winning multiple Isle of Man TT races and road race championships — but also renowned for his charitable endeavours.
