Justine McGuirk Crowned 2024 Louth Rose at Vibrant Dundalk Event
Justine McGuirk has been crowned the 2024 Louth Rose following an exciting selection event held on Saturday, June 15th at The Gateway Hotel, Dundalk.
The competition saw nine local entrants from Drogheda, Ardee, Collon, and Dundalk vie for the prestigious title. The day featured individual and group interviews, culminating in live stage interviews in the evening.
The event was judged by Mark Irwin, 2013 International Rose of Tralee Escort, Karol Ann Kenna, 2008 Louth Rose, and Natalie Kelly, founder of the Drogheda Dolls. Hosted by Ollie Turner from Galway Bay FM, the evening celebrated local talent and community spirit with contributions from various local businesses and services.
Justine, originally from Drogheda and now residing in Ardee, is a DKIT graduate with a Bachelor’s (Hons) in Health and Physical Education. She currently works as a day service supervisor and is an advocate for people with disabilities. Additionally, she is an active member of the Voices of the Boyne Choir.
Sponsored by Voices of the Boyne and Illuminated Skin, Ardee, Justine will represent Louth at the International Rose of Tralee Festival in Kerry from August 16th to 20th. Reflecting on her selection, Justine expressed gratitude and excitement for the journey ahead.
The selection night also featured a charity raffle raising nearly €1,000 for local charities, including Drogheda Dolls House and Northeast Cancer Research & Education Trust.
