Local Heroes Brave 19km Carlingford Hike to Raise Funds for Ardee & District Cancer Support
A group of dedicated local men recently took on a challenging 19km hike in Carlingford, braving the unpredictable Irish weather to raise vital funds for Ardee & District Cancer Support. The team, consisting of Gary McKenny, Richie Malone, Richie Giggins, Kevin Malone, Zac Rodgers, Barry Ludden, Tommy Wogan, Martin McEnaney, and Thomas Malone, embarked on this ambitious trek to support a cause close to their hearts.
The hike began at Carlingford Lough, with the lads trekking across the mountain range and into Omeath before returning along the scenic greenway. Their efforts were rewarded with a fantastic fundraising total of €3,235, all of which will go towards supporting those impacted by cancer in the Ardee community.
The funds raised will contribute to the ongoing efforts of Ardee & District Cancer Support, which was established in 2018 to provide much-needed assistance to local families dealing with cancer. The organization is currently working to renovate a property in Ardee to create a dedicated Cancer Support Centre, offering vital services to those in need.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to the brave hikers for their incredible effort and to everyone who supported their journey. The entire community is grateful for their dedication and hard work.
