The stage is set for an intense quarter-final showdown in the Louth Senior Football Championship, with champions Ardee St Marys set to face off against St Pats in a repeat of last year’s dramatic semi-final. The highly anticipated match is scheduled for Sunday, September 22nd, at Dowdallshill, with a 4:30 pm throw-in.

The defending champions, St Marys, are looking to build on their strong performance, having narrowly edged past last year’s Flood Cup winners, the Termonfeckin men, in a tight contest. St Pats, hungry for redemption, will aim to reverse last season’s result and secure a place in the semi-finals.

Meanwhile, Roche Emmets clinched the final quarter-final spot after a nail-biting 10-9 victory over St Fechins in Stabannon on Monday night. In a tense affair where the teams were level six times, it was Barry O’Hare’s two crucial late 45s that propelled Roche ahead 10-8 in the closing stages. While Joe Corrigan’s free brought St Fechins back within a point deep into overtime, they couldn’t find the equalizer, sending Roche through at their expense.

Both sides had good chances at goal during the second half, but outstanding saves and tough conditions played their part. O’Hare, who had struggled with accuracy in the windy conditions, came good when it mattered most, sealing victory with his two late scores.

In the quarter-final draw that followed, Roche Emmets were paired with Newtown Blues. That fixture will take place on Saturday, September 21st, at 6:00 pm in Darver.

Other key matchups include last year’s runners-up Naomh Mairtin, who will take on St Joseph’s in Dunleer on Sunday, September 22nd, at 1:30 pm, and a clash between the Mochtas and Dreadnots under the lights on Monday, September 23rd, at 8:00 pm in Haggardstown.

The relegation semi-finals have also been confirmed, with St Fechins, following their recent loss, set to face Cooley Kickhams on Friday, September 20th, at Clan na nGael Park, while the Geraldines will take on St Brides the same night in Darver. Both games are scheduled for 7:30 pm.

With thrilling encounters lined up, fans across County Louth can look forward to a weekend packed with drama, as teams battle for a spot in the final four.
