Ingham Impresses with Maiden Manx Grand Prix Win

Daniel Ingham secured a well-deserved victory in the Mylchreests Group Senior Manx Grand Prix, marking his first-ever win at the event. After finishing second and third in previous years, the Melton Mowbray rider delivered a flawless start-to-finish performance, crossing the line 35.394 seconds ahead of runner-up Chris Cook. Sam Johnson completed the podium in third place.

The race, which began at 3:45 p.m., saw Ingham (Castings Technology Yamaha) quickly establish a lead. By Glen Helen on the opening lap, he had already pulled 5.5 seconds clear of Johnson (Ron Soar/Dynamic Access Suzuki). Jacque Foley (TPS/JF76 Yamaha) followed closely in third, with Julien Cregniot (Team ILR Yamaha), Cook (Kawasaki), and newcomer Johnny Stewart (Stewart Racing Kawasaki) battling for positions in the top six.

Cook moved into second place at Ballaugh Bridge, but Ingham continued to extend his lead, reaching 15.2 seconds by Ramsey Hairpin on the first lap. Ingham’s dominance was clear as he completed the opening lap at a blistering speed of 118.762 mph, stretching his lead to 23.13 seconds over Cook, who clocked in at 116.408 mph.

By the time the riders reached Glen Helen on the second and final lap, Ingham had further increased his lead to 24.8 seconds. He maintained his pace through all the timing points, ultimately crossing the finish line with a final lap speed of 118.868 mph. Cook secured his first MGP podium with a lap of 117.606 mph, while Johnson joined the podium with a lap of 116.895 mph.

Cregniot finished fourth, ahead of Michael Gahan and newcomer Johnny Stewart, who took an impressive sixth place. Gerald Dath, Jacque Foley, Lancelot Unissart, and Ryan Whitehall rounded out the top ten.

By the time they reached Ramsey, Rushton had surged into the lead, building a significant 14.773-second advantage. He continued to press on, securing a fairy-tale win with a final lap of 97.615 mph.
