Blackbull and Johnstown in Eight-Goal Thriller

Blackbull are quickly becoming Division 2’s most entertaining team, battling back from 3-1 down to secure a 4-4 draw against Johnstown at the MDL grounds on Thursday night. Jack Murphy scored twice, and Phil Bergin’s volley helped Blackbull level the score before halftime. Despite creating numerous chances in the second half, Blackbull couldn’t secure the win. They’ll look to bounce back on Sunday against Virginia at St Oliver’s.

Ardee Celtic extended their unbeaten run in Division 1 with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Sporting BJD on Friday night. Desmond Jibona’s first goal of the season, following a free-kick by Robbie Reynolds, secured all three points. Despite a missed penalty by Sporting BJD, Ardee held on to climb the ranks with games in hand.

Termonfeckin Celtic’s Fitzsimons Cup hopes were dashed with a 6-1 loss to Torro United. Despite a goal from Paul Flanagan, Torro’s clinical performance ended Termonfeckin’s cup run. With a bye week ahead, Termonfeckin aim to regroup and improve their league standing.

Square United’s Kilmessan Shield campaign ended abruptly with a 6-0 defeat to Carrick Rovers. Despite a strong start from goalkeeper Marc Levins, Carrick’s relentless attack proved too much for Square. They’ll seek redemption in the Fitzsimons Cup against Sporting BJD next Saturday.
