Philipstown Fair to Shine Spotlight on Local Women Entrepreneurs with Family Fun, Crafts, and Wellness
Ardee News and Sport – The Philipstown Fair returns for its second year on November 10, celebrating women in business with a vibrant day of family-friendly activities, wellness sessions, and unique shopping opportunities. Organized by local mother and entrepreneur Jenny Coyle, the fair was inspired by local women juggling entrepreneurship and family life.
Jenny created the fair to recognize the resilience of mothers who run businesses while raising children. “It’s inspiring and humbling to meet these moms who work late into the night after putting their kids to bed,” she said. “I thought, wouldn’t it be amazing to have a day to celebrate this strength and dedication?”
The event will showcase over 40 small businesses offering handmade candles, jewelry, dog treats, and custom gifts, among other artisan products. But it’s more than just a market: attendees can join yoga and pilates classes, listen to nutrition talks, and enjoy food from local vendors.
Designed to be a welcoming event for all ages, the fair includes activities for children like dance and arts and crafts classes, storytelling, STEM projects, and face-painting, sponsored by Dunleer Credit Union. O’Dowd’s Veterinary will also give talks on pet care.
The fair’s community-centered ethos is central to Jenny’s vision. “I want the fair to have a warm, collaborative vibe,” she shared. “These women aren’t competing; they’re supporting each other. If one vendor needs to step away from her stall, her neighbor will step in. It’s about building each other up.”
In addition to celebrating women in business, the event will feature a raffle to support SAFE, a local suicide prevention charity in Castlebellingham. Jenny hopes this year’s fair will draw an even larger crowd, saying, “It’s a bit off the beaten track, but it’s worth the trip. There’s something for everyone, and it’s a wonderful way to support and celebrate local women in business.”
The Philipstown Fair promises to be a day of connection, community, and inspiration. Interested vendors can still apply by contacting Jenny at 085-8223004.
