Rising Stars Gear Up for Donegal International Rally Weekend

A wave of young talents from the Motorsport Ireland Rally Academy is set to tackle the Donegal International Rally this weekend, with historic entries adding to the excitement.
Notably, Junior World Rally Champions William Creighton and Liam Regan will switch roles, with Regan driving his Skoda Estelle 130 L and Creighton debuting as co-driver.
“This is my first time reading notes,” said Creighton. “It’s an iconic rally, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it.”
The historic category kicks off on Saturday, while the main event, a pivotal round in both the Irish Tarmac Rally Championship and Stellantis Cup, features top seeds like Ryan MacHugh and Declan Boyle in the Rally4 class. MacHugh, eager to compete on home soil, stated, “It is going to be a great battle in the Rally4 class all weekend.”
Challengers include Keelan Grogan and Kyle McBride, both aiming for top spots amid the demanding three-day schedule covering over 275 competitive kilometers. Grogan emphasized the level playing field with many new stages, saying, “Donegal is always the one everyone looks forward to.”
With classic Donegal lanes and a gruelling schedule ahead, the rally promises intense competition and thrilling action.
