Shock Exit for Keith Cronin at Donegal International Rally: Edwards Takes the Lead

Donegal In a dramatic turn of events at the Donegal International Rally, leader Keith Cronin has been forced to bow out after a mishap on Mamore Gap.

Cronin, driving a Ford Fiesta with co-driver Mikie Galvin, slid off the road and became stuck, marking the first major casualty of the day. Fortunately, both Cronin and Galvin emerged unscathed.

Cronin’s exit has shaken up the competition, handing the lead back to Matt Edwards and his co-driver David Moynihan. The duo now holds an 8.1-second advantage, a crucial edge as the rally progresses.

Stage 5 in Inishowen also witnessed a remarkable performance from Callum Devine. Piloting his Skoda, Devine, along with co-driver Noel O’Sullivan, clocked his fastest time yet with 6:33.06 on Mamore Gap. This impressive run tightened the gap with the leader, as Edwards posted a time of 6:40.02.

The rally continues to deliver high-octane excitement, with competitors pushing their limits on the challenging course. With Cronin out of the running, all eyes are now on Edwards and Devine as they vie for the top spot in this fiercely contested event.
