Shots Fired in Dundalk: Three Injured and Two Arrested


Shots Fired

Three people were injured and two men have been arrested following a shooting incident in Dundalk, Co Louth on Friday evening.

The shooting occurred at a residential area near Dundalk on Friday, July 19, at approximately 8:30 PM. Among the injured were two men in their 20s, who were taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, with non-life-threatening injuries. A third man, in his 50s, did not require medical attention.

Two men have been arrested in connection with the firearm discharge and assault. One man in his 20s is detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939, while the other, also in his 20s, is detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984. Both are held at a Garda station in Louth.

An Garda Síochána stated that investigations are ongoing.
