Severe storm damage at Páirc Mhuire in Ardee has caused significant disruption for Louth footballers, forcing a venue change for their Allianz Football League Division 2 home fixtures. The damage has rendered the floodlights inoperable, leaving the Wee County with no choice but to relocate their upcoming games.

After kicking off their campaign with an impressive away win against Westmeath, Louth will now play their next three home matches at the Integral GAA Grounds in Drogheda, formerly known as the Gaelic Grounds.

Sunday’s crucial clash against Roscommon will be the first of the relocated fixtures, followed by round 4 against Down and round 5 versus Monaghan, all now scheduled for Drogheda.

The final group stage game on March 23rd, a much-anticipated derby against Meath, was already set for Inniskeen Grattan’s ground due to Páirc Mhuire’s capacity limitations.

Meanwhile, in Division 1, the Connacht rivalry between Mayo and Galway has also been affected by weather-related issues. The fixture at McHale Park on Sunday has been brought forward to 2.30pm due to similar floodlight problems caused by storm damage.

Louth GAA has thanked fans for their understanding and urged them to support the team in their temporary “home away from home.” Keep an eye on official channels for further updates.

Elsewhere, Saturday’s Division 1 clash between Connacht rivals Mayo and Galway at McHale Park has been switched to the earlier time of 2.30pm.
