In a severe road traffic incident near Ardee, three individuals have been hospitalised following a three-vehicle collision. The accident, involving two cars and an SUV, occurred on the R165 at Mandistown shortly after 5pm on Thursday July 11th.

One of the motorists, a man in his 70s, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Tallaght University Hospital for urgent medical treatment. The other drivers, women aged in their 30s and 50s, were transported to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda for further medical assessment.

Emergency services swiftly responded to the scene, ensuring that the injured were promptly attended to. The road was temporarily closed to facilitate the emergency response and investigation, but it has since been cleared and reopened to traffic.

The Gardaí have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision. They are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any relevant information to come forward.
