Ardee Road to Close as Part of County-Wide Resurfacing

Artnalivery in Ardee Among Key Routes Set for Temporary Closure in Louth Roadworks Plan
Louth County Council has announced plans for a series of temporary road closures across the county as part of an extensive resurfacing and safety improvement programme scheduled to begin this summer. Among the locations identified is Artnalivery in Ardee, which is included in a list of 15 key sites across the Dundalk, Drogheda, and Ardee Municipal Districts.
The works, which are due to take place between 12th August 2025 and 11th August 2026, will see each road closed for a maximum of five days to allow for essential strengthening, resurfacing, and safety enhancement measures.
Other notable roads impacted include the Armagh Road (Kilcurry and Carnbeg sections), De La Salle Terrace, Rock Road, Coes Road East, and parts of the N52 near Christianstown. In Drogheda, short-term closures are planned for Westgate and Shop Street, while Drumleck, Greenore, and roads in Knockbridge, Marlbog, Mooreland, and Knockaleva are also included in the schedule.
Louth County Council has assured residents that local and emergency access will be maintained at all times, with clearly signposted diversion routes in place during each closure. Additionally, a temporary speed limit of 50 km/h will be enforced on all affected roads throughout the works period to ensure the safety of both workers and the public.

Alternatively, objections can be submitted via the Online Consultation Portal on the council’s website. The deadline for submissions is 5:00 PM on Tuesday, 29th July 2025.
