Community Spirit Celebrated at Ardee Municipal District Civic Awards
The spirit of community, service, and local pride took centre stage at the 2025 Ardee Municipal District Civic Awards, held on Monday, 8 December, in the Ardee Parish Centre. The annual celebration honours individuals and groups whose achievements and contributions have made a meaningful difference across Ardee and Mid-Louth.
“These awards honour the people whose quiet dedication keeps Ardee’s spirit alive every day.”
After careful consideration by the six elected members of Ardee Municipal District, nine exceptional recipients were selected for their service, charity, leadership, sports excellence, and community impact.
A Ceremony Steeped in Local Pride
The event opened with a ceremonial parade of the National Flag, along with the flags of County Louth and Ardee Municipal District. Members of Louth County Council Fire and Rescue Service—Uli Keller, Stephen Grey, and Dita Durse—led the procession, adding a strong sense of dignity and civic pride.
Cathaoirleach of Ardee Municipal District, Cllr Dolores Minogue, and Louth County Council Chief Executive David Conway both delivered opening remarks before the formal presentation of awards.
