Omeath was honoured with the Endeavour Award for its significant year-on-year improvement, while Dromiskin enjoyed a standout evening, collecting not only the County Award but also the Midlands and East Regional Youth Award and the Greenways and Active Travel Award.

These achievements underline the town’s ongoing efforts to promote sustainability, youth engagement, and active travel — values that resonate strongly across Louth’s community network.

Community pride and teamwork on display

With 23 towns and villages participating this year, Louth once again demonstrated why it is known as one of Ireland’s most proactive and community-driven counties.

The Tidy Towns movement in Louth thrives on collaboration between local volunteers, residents, businesses, and Louth County Council, who together ensure that public spaces are clean, green, and welcoming for both locals and visitors.

Local leaders praise Louth’s community effort

Cllr. Seán Kelly, Cathaoirleach of Louth County Council, praised the collective achievement, saying:

“This is a tremendous accomplishment for County Louth, which continues to perform among the top counties in this national competition. These results reflect the pride and commitment found in every town and village.”

David Conway, Chief Executive of Louth County Council, added:

“I’m delighted with the achievements of all the Tidy Towns groups across Louth. Five Gold Medals — one more than last year — along with two Silvers and a Bronze is outstanding.

The high standard of urban and village enhancement across Louth is clear for all to see. This success is built on the tireless dedication of our volunteers, who continue to make the county a beautiful and welcoming place to live and visit.”

Ardee’s continuing Tidy Towns legacy

Ardee’s latest Gold Medal win reinforces its reputation as one of Louth’s most consistent performers in the competition. The town’s committee, supported by local volunteers and businesses, has worked tirelessly to improve streetscapes, enhance biodiversity, and foster civic pride throughout the year.

As the curtain falls on another successful Tidy Towns season, Ardee and its fellow winners have once again proven that community spirit, sustainability, and teamwork remain at the heart of life in County Louth.
