The alarm was raised early in the morning when a staff member reported a potential security threat on Magnet Street, Dundalk, Co. Louth, as court proceedings were underway. Staff and members of the public were immediately evacuated, and a full search of the courthouse began.

The area surrounding Crowe Street was cordoned off by emergency services, causing heavy traffic as patrol cars secured the scene.
