By ArdeePost Reporter

A man and woman have been arrested after Revenue officers seized 10 kilograms of cocaine worth an estimated €700,000 during an intelligence-led operation in Dundalk, Co Louth, earlier today.

The operation, conducted on Tuesday, 12th August 2025, was part of a coordinated effort involving the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau, the Dundalk Divisional Drug and Detective Units, and the Revenue Customs Service.

The drugs were intercepted in Dundalk following detailed surveillance and targeted intelligence work. Gardaí arrested a man in his 40s and a woman in her 30s at the scene. Both are currently being detained in a Garda Station in Co Louth under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.

The seizure marks another significant blow to organised crime groups operating in the region, with Gardaí and Revenue continuing to intensify their joint efforts to disrupt drug trafficking networks.

A Garda spokesperson confirmed that investigations are ongoing and further updates will be provided as the case develops.

Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and report any information related to drug activity to Gardaí or through the Garda Confidential
