The countdown is on for Drogheda’s latest event—the Boyne Midsummer Festival—taking place over the weekend of June 21st to 23rd.
This vibrant festival promises a day-to-night program with activities and entertainment for all ages.
Family Fun Afternoons
During the afternoons, Drogheda will come alive with family-friendly activities including fairground rides, a petting zoo, live music, street performers, and a bustling riverside market. The Cottage Market will have a special feature in Scotch Hall and on West Street, offering a range of activities to keep everyone entertained.
Friday Evening Kickoff
The festival kicks off on Friday evening with “The Stowaway Sessions” at Drogheda Port. This intimate music event will feature a performance by Jerry Fish, accompanied by Cian Boylan and supported by SJ McArdle, all set against the iconic Boyne Viaduct.
Night Moves Midsummer Trad Trail
Each night, the “Night Moves Midsummer Trad Trail” will see live musicians performing in pubs and venues throughout the town. Additionally, “Music at the Gate” will return under Laurences Gate on Saturday, June 22nd, and the “Busk at Dusk” program will bring a variety of street performers to Drogheda on Friday, June 21st. These musical events are supported by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media.
