It was another action-packed weekend for CúChulainn Archers as members took to the road to compete in two prestigious archery events—both yielding impressive medal hauls for the club.
Ulster Bowmen’s Vegas Shoot
First up was the Ulster Bowmen’s Vegas Shoot, a competition modeled after the famous Las Vegas tournament held annually in Nevada. This challenging event features a 30-arrow format, with a maximum score of 300, shot on the distinctive triangular ‘Vegas’ face. Competitors had the option to participate in two sessions in a single day, either aiming for their best score or competing in different categories.
CúChulainn Archers put on a dominant display, bringing home multiple medals:
🏹 Alan Convery – Gold, Compound Senior Men
🏹 Niall Bradley – Silver, Compound Senior Men
🏹 JoAnn Bell – Gold, Compound Master Women
🏹 Paul McClelland – Gold, Compound Master Men
🏹 Phillip Fitzpatrick – Bronze, Compound Master Men
🏹 Fiachra Judge & Gilbert McClelland – 4th & 5th place in a highly competitive category
🏹 Peter Gilmore – Gold, Barebow Master Men
Lisburn City Archers Portsmouth Round
The competition continued on Sunday at the Portsmouth Round, hosted by Lisburn City Archers. Like the Vegas Shoot, this event allowed archers to compete in two sessions, giving some members the opportunity to test their skills in multiple disciplines.
Once again, CúChulainn Archers showcased their talent:
🏹 Neil Keeble – Bronze, Compound Senior Men
🏹 Neil Keeble – Silver, Barebow Senior Men
🏹 Ryan Dougan – 5th place, Barebow Senior Men
🏹 Peter Gilmore – Bronze, Barebow Master Men (adding to his Gold from Saturday)
🏹 Siobhán Keeble – Gold, Barebow Master Women
🏹 JoAnn Bell – Gold, Compound Master Women (securing two golds over the weekend!)
A Weekend of Success
