By ArdeePost Reporter
CúChulainn Archers have enjoyed a hugely successful fortnight on the competition circuit, bringing home a haul of medals and personal bests at two major events.
First up was the Archery Ireland Outdoor Open Target Championships, held at the National Sports Campus in Blanchardstown. Competitors battled through very windy conditions, but the CúChulainn Archers team rose to the challenge.
- JoAnn Bell retained her title in style, securing Gold in the Compound Women category for the second consecutive year.
- Brendan Forde claimed an impressive 3rd place in the Recurve Men category, while also recording personal bests at 90m and 70m in the 1440 Round, along with a new best in the 720 Round.
- Alan Convery added to the club’s medal tally with 3rd place in the Compound Men category.
The winning momentum continued at the Ron Bell Memorial Shoot, hosted by Lough Cuan Bowmen, where CúChulainn Archers again made their mark across multiple categories:
- Mark Young – Gold, Trad 50+
- Gilbert McClelland – Gold, Compound 50+
- Phillip Fitzpatrick – Silver, Compound 50+
- Ryan Dougan – Silver, Barebow Men
- Peter Gilmore – Silver, Barebow 50+
These results underline the club’s depth of talent and commitment, with competitors excelling across traditional, recurve, barebow and compound disciplines.
