Ardee News and Sport — Firefighters were called to a house fire in the Dromin area overnight, responding to an emergency that unfolded in the early hours of the morning. The alarm was raised at approximately 3 a.m., prompting a rapid response from fire crews in the surrounding areas.

Firefighters from Drogheda, Ardee, and Dunleer rushed to the scene and worked tirelessly to bring the fire under control. Thankfully, all occupants of the home were able to evacuate safely before the firefighters arrived. No injuries have been reported in connection with the incident.

The fire, which caused significant damage to a section of the property, took several hours to fully extinguish. Authorities have since confirmed that the cause of the blaze is not being treated as suspicious, although an investigation into the specific circumstances surrounding the fire is ongoing.

Residents in the area were temporarily evacuated as a precaution while fire crews battled the flames, but they have since been allowed to return to their homes. Local officials have commended the quick response of the firefighters, whose efforts prevented the fire from spreading to nearby properties.

While the exact extent of the damage is still being assessed, it is understood that a large part of the house has been severely affected by the blaze. The occupants are receiving support from local emergency services and are being provided with temporary accommodation.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the fire service praised the occupants for their quick thinking in safely exiting the property and emphasized the importance of working smoke alarms in homes. “Thanks to the early detection and swift action of the residents, a potentially more tragic outcome was avoided. We urge everyone to ensure their smoke alarms are in good working order,” the spokesperson said.

Local authorities are also urging the public to remain vigilant and prepared in case of emergencies, especially with colder weather approaching, which often sees an increase in domestic fires.
