Search for Missing Ardee Man Patrick Ward Concludes Following Discovery of Body
Ardee News and Sport –The search for Patrick Ward, a 52-year-old man from Ardee, County Louth, has been concluded following the discovery of a body. Mr. Ward had been missing since December 11, 2024.
Gardaí issued a statement on Friday evening confirming the development: “Following the discovery of a man’s body, the missing person appeal in respect of Patrick Ward, 52 years, who was reported missing from his home in Ardee, Co. Louth since 11th December 2024, has been stood down.”
Mr. Ward was last seen at approximately 7:30 PM on December 11, wearing a black jacket, blue jeans, and black trainers. He was described as being 5 feet 7 inches tall, of medium build, with fair hair and blue eyes.
During the search, there were reports suggesting that Mr. Ward had been spotted in various locations, including outside the Golden Island Shopping Centre in Athlone, where witnesses claimed he was seen conversing with a man and later walking towards the town center.
The community had been actively involved in efforts to locate Mr. Ward, with family members and local residents organizing searches and sharing information on social media platforms.
At this time, Gardaí have not released further details regarding the circumstances of the body’s discovery or the cause of death. They have expressed gratitude to the public for their assistance during the search and have requested privacy for Mr. Ward’s family as they grieve this loss.
