Dundalk Face Tough Test in Dalymount Clash

Despite the scale of the task ahead, Dundalk manager Ciarán Kilduff has made it clear that his side will not be going to Dublin to make up the numbers. The Lilywhites boss insists his team will approach the game with a positive mindset and a determination to come away with a result.

Preparation for the clash has been far from ideal, however, with Dundalk dealing with a growing list of absentees. Aodh Dervin will miss out through suspension following his red card against Sligo Rovers earlier in the week, while Ronan Teahan has become the latest player ruled out through injury.

They join an already lengthy injury list that includes Rob Cornwall, Vinnie Leonard, Leo Gaxha, Norman Garbett, Luke Mulligan and Conor Kearns — leaving Kilduff with limited options as he prepares his squad for the trip.

Bohemians, meanwhile, have made a strong start to the campaign and will enter the game full of confidence, particularly given their defensive solidity. Their ability to keep things tight at the back has been a key factor in their unbeaten run to date.

For Dundalk, the game represents both a challenge and an opportunity. While the odds may be stacked against them, it offers a chance for other members of the squad to step up and make an impact on a big stage.

Kilduff will be hoping his players can show resilience, organisation and attacking intent as they look to upset one of the league’s early pace-setters.

All eyes will be on Dalymount Park on Friday night as Dundalk aim to defy the odds and secure what would be a significant result away from home.
