Ardee St Mary’s are through to the Paddy Sheelan Shield Final after a strong second-half performance saw them overcome Naomh Mairtin and set up a final meeting with St Joseph’s.
Marys Take Control in Second Half
Daire McConnon was the standout performer for the Ardee side, finishing with an impressive seven points, while Conor Gillespie added five points and Ronan Carroll scored the decisive goal late in the game.
Early scores from McConnon helped St Mary’s lead by 0-4 to 0-1 after ten minutes, but Naomh Mairtin responded with two two-pointers to level the match. The sides were level at 0-8 each at half-time after a competitive opening period.
St Mary’s took control after the restart, scoring three unanswered points before adding another five points as they began to pull away. Ronan Carroll then sealed the win with the only goal of the game in the closing stages.
St Joseph’s Reach Final
St Joseph’s booked their place in the final with a 0-21 to 0-16 win over Mattock Rangers. A strong second-half performance saw the Joes pull away, with Ben McKeown, Alan Quigley and Oisin McGuinness among the key scorers.
Paddy Sheelan Cup Final
In the Paddy Sheelan Cup, Cooley Kickhams and St Brides will meet in the final after both sides recorded impressive semi-final victories over Hunterstown Rovers and St Fechins respectively.
