End of the Wait: High-Octane Kells Road Races Announced for Crossakiel Return

CC’s Unlimited Kells Road Race CLG have officially announced the highly anticipated return of the Kells Road Races to Crossakiel, Co. Meath, marking a major milestone for regional motorsport this summer.

Having last run in 2022, the event returns to its traditional status as a massive fixture on the Irish national road racing calendar. Riders and race fans from across Ireland and further afield are expected to descend on the area for a thrilling two-day racing programme scheduled across the weekend of Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st June 2026.

📅 Key Event Dates & Festivities

  • Official Launch Night: Thursday, 21st May 2026 at 8:00 PM. Hosted in the Headfort Arms Hotel, Kells. Riders, sponsors, volunteers, and the public are all welcome.
  • The Classic Run: Friday, 19th June 2026 at 7:30 PM. Departing from Maguire’s Bar and Lounge, Kells, this popular charity run will raise vital funds for the Irish Kidney Association.
  • Race Weekend: Saturday 20th & Sunday 21st June 2026. Two full days of action on the technical Crossakiel circuit.

Community & Charity at the Heart

The festival atmosphere will begin in earnest with Friday’s Classic Run, which historically draws a spectacular turnout of vintage and classic motorcycle enthusiasts. The choice of charity highlights the deep roots of the club within community care initiatives, mirroring local philanthropic efforts closer to home like the **Aclint Drama Group’s fundraising** for local hospices.

The return of the races serves as a major economic boost for the broader Louth-Meath region, generating substantial local tourism. This high-octane weekend joins an extraordinarily busy June social calendar across the district, running concurrently with the **Glyde Rangers GFC centenary “Music Bingo” fundraiser** in Tallanstown and follow-up activities from the **Africa Day Louth community workshops** at the Dee Hub.

Volunteer Opportunities

Organizing an event of this scale requires tremendous community teamwork. Club officials have invited prospective sponsors, marshals, and local volunteers to attend the upcoming launch night at the Headfort Arms Hotel to get involved. Further programmatic details and grid entries will be released on official social channels in the coming weeks.
