NW200: Superbike Qualifying Faces Significant Delays After Red Flag

The Superbike qualifying session at the North West 200 has been significantly delayed this Thursday morning following a red flag incident on the course.

⚠️ LATEST: As of 12:15 BST, organisers have confirmed a further 90-minute delay to the schedule.

Race Control confirmed that the stoppage was due to an incident on the course during the opening session of the day. This initially led to a 45-minute wait, followed by a subsequent one-hour delay as organisers worked to clear the track and ensure rider safety.

Final qualifying for the north coast showpiece is a vital part of the event, determining the grid for both today’s opening races and the main event on Saturday. For many fans traveling from Ardee and across Louth, the news brings a pause to the high-speed excitement expected this morning.

Revised Thursday Qualifying (Roads Closed 9am-3pm)

Session 1: Superbike (Ongoing/Delayed)

Session 2: Supersport

Session 3: Superstock

Session 4: Supertwin/Sportbike

Evening Race Schedule

Roads are scheduled to close again this evening from 4:45pm to 9:00pm for the first competitive races of the 2026 event. At present, the evening schedule remains as follows, though fans are advised to monitor official channels for potential knock-on effects from this morning’s delays:

  • RACE 1: Milwaukee Superbike (4 laps)
  • RACE 2: Fraser Homes Supersport (4 laps)
  • RACE 3: Amici Ristorante Superstock (4 laps)

Safety remains the absolute priority at the Triangle circuit, and our thoughts are with any riders involved.
