Man (60s) Dies Following Two-Car Crash in Dundalk

A man in his 60s has died following a late-night road traffic collision in Dundalk, County Louth.

Emergency services were called to the scene of a two-car crash on the N53 at Rassan at approximately 10.15pm on Monday night.

Man Pronounced Dead at Scene

The man, who was driving one of the vehicles involved in the collision, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body has since been removed to Louth County Hospital, where a post-mortem examination will take place.

The coroner has been notified.

Woman Taken to Hospital

A woman in her 20s, who was travelling in the second vehicle, was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda.

Her injuries are understood to be non-life-threatening.

Gardaí Appeal for Witnesses

Gardaí have confirmed that diversions are currently in place while forensic investigators examine the scene.

They are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who may have camera footage from the area at the time, to come forward.

Investigations are ongoing following the fatal collision on the N53 in Dundalk.
