Environmental Vandalism: Fresh Illegal Dumping Near Ardee Link Road
Recent waste dumped near the Ardee link road.
Local Sinn Féin Councillor Pearse McGeough has expressed his shock and profound sadness following the discovery of household waste and debris abandoned just off the Ardee link road, in the immediate vicinity of the Charleville Roundabout.
This location has sadly become a hotspot for illegal activity, forcing Louth County Council to intervene previously by erecting warning signage. However, the latest haul—which includes a discarded mattress and various garden refuse—proves that these deterrents are being blatantly ignored by those responsible.
Council warning signs remain ignored at the site.
A Call for Vigilance
Councillor McGeough has labelled the perpetrators “environmental vandals,” noting that their actions not only tarnish the beauty of our countryside but also place an avoidable strain on the council’s resources—funds that would be far better spent on community improvement initiatives in Ardee.
The community is urged to report any suspicious activity in the area to the local authorities to help put an end to this cycle of environmental degradation.
