
New Housing Applications Lodged for Dunleer and Collon Districts
Two significant new planning applications for domestic dwellings have been submitted to Louth County Council, targeting rural sites in Paughanstown and Funshog.
The applications, received within the last fortnight, represent continued residential interest in the Dunleer and Collon hinterlands. Both proposals include provisions for modern wastewater treatment systems and private site entrances.
1. Paughanstown, Dunleer (Ref: 2660200)
A new application has been received for a bespoke residential development in Paughanstown, Dunleer. The project is currently at the “New Application” stage following its submission on April 15th, 2026.
- Development: Construction of a part storey-and-a-half, part single-storey house.
- Infrastructure: Installation of a new wastewater treatment unit and percolation area.
- Access: Provision of a new dedicated entrance onto the public road.
- Status: Awaiting assessment by council planners.
2. Funshog, Collon (Ref: 2660171)
Further south in the district, plans have been lodged for a two-storey residence in Funshog, Collon. This application was formally received by the local authority on April 7th, 2026.
- Development: Construction of a two-storey dwelling house and a separate single-storey domestic garage.
- Infrastructure: Installation of a waste water treatment system and a specialized sand polishing filter.
- Status: New Application.
Public Observation & Decisions
Under standard planning regulations, the public has a five-week window from the date the application was received to submit observations or objections to Louth County Council.
