Seamus Dolan
Eastham Road, Bettystown, Co. Meath / Formerly Sunday Gate, Drogheda, Co. Louth
Seamus Dolan, of Eastham Road, Bettystown, Co. Meath and formerly of Sunday Gate, Drogheda, Co. Louth, passed away peacefully on June 19th, 2026, surrounded by his family and in the exceptional care of the staff at Blackrock Hospice.
Son of the late James and Eileen, and beloved husband and best friend of the late Mary, Seamus was a loving dad to Michelle, Gerard, Eileen, and Joanne. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his heartbroken family.
He is also deeply mourned by his cherished grandchildren James, Ellie, Matthew, Isabella, Aaron, Christopher, and Clara (predeceased by his granddaughter Olivia); his sons-in-law and daughter-in-law; his sisters Maureen and Emer (predeceased by his brother Fergus); as well as his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a wide circle of friends.
The family extends their sincere thanks to Prof. Ray McDermott, Dr. Fergal Donnellan, the staff of Cedar and Cara Wards (SVPH), the Specialist Palliative Care Teams, Dr. Michael O’Brien, Dr. Kandan Loganathan, and the team at Hilltop Medical for their wonderful care over the years.
Funeral Details:
Reposing at Watson Funeral Directors, Dyer Street, Drogheda (A92 W7EP) on Tuesday evening, June 23rd, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday morning, June 24th, at 11:00am in Sacred Heart Church, Laytown (A92 PF20), followed by burial in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Drogheda. The Mass may be viewed live via the parish webcam.
Family flowers only, please. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services in Seamus’s memory. The family residence remains strictly private. Please note that parking outside the church is reserved for immediate family; public parking is available at the Parochial Hall (A92 EK59) and the primary schools’ car park (A92 H762).

P.J. Geraghty, of John Street, Ardee, Co. Louth, passed away peacefully at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, on June 18th, 2026.
P.J. will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Breda; his six sons Peter, Kevin, Martin, John, David, and Michéal; his cherished grandchildren; his sisters Mary (McKay), Rosie (McQuillan), and Dolores (McQuillan); as well as his extended family, neighbours, and many friends.

Reposing at the Finlay Funeral Home, Tierney Street, Ardee (A92 EY88) on Tuesday, June 23rd, from 3:00pm to 7:00pm.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday morning, June 24th, at 10:00am in the Church of the Nativity of Our Lady, Ardee, which can be viewed live via the parish webcam link. Burial will take place afterward in Old St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ardee.
