Brendan Carolan, of Beechmount Drive, Dundalk, Co. Louth and formerly of Moynalty, Co. Meath, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, June 26th, 2026, surrounded by the love of his devoted wife and family.

Predeceased by his daughter Elaine Heeney, his parents Patrick and Kathleen, and his siblings, Brendan was the treasured husband of Ethel (née Hutchinson) and the beloved dad of Damien and Bernadette. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his wife, son, daughter, son-in-law Michael, daughter-in-law Sarah; his adored grandchildren Stacey, Michaela, Rosemarie, Christopher, Dean, Aaron, Brendan, Lyndsey, Alexis, Anthony, Ashley, and Dennis; his great-grandchildren; brother Tommy; sisters Eileen, Mary, Dolores, Kathleen, Bernadette, and Angela; as well as his brothers and sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, and all of his wonderful friends and neighbours.

Funeral Details:
Reposing at his home, Beechmount Drive (A91 X8X7), on Sunday, June 28th, and Monday, June 29th, from 2:00pm to 8:00pm.

Removal will take place on Tuesday morning, June 30th, at 10:40am, on foot to the Church of The Holy Redeemer (A91 NY2Y), arriving for Funeral Mass at 11:00am. Burial will take place afterward in St. Patrick’s Cemetery (A91 F598).

The house remains private on Tuesday morning, please. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Irish Cancer Society and the North Louth Hospice.

Olive Sarsfield (née Derham), of Ballyhavil Lane, Rush Road, Skerries, Co. Dublin and formerly of Sarsfield’s Pub, Drogheda, passed away peacefully at home on June 26th, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her beloved husband Jim, her parents Maureen and William, and her sister Ann, Olive was the loving mam to Róisin, Sinéad, Seamus, and Colman. She will be very sadly missed by her children, her son-in-law Garry, her daughters-in-law Dearbhla and Ruth, and her cherished grandchildren Daisy, Rubysunshine, Saul, Poppy, Pearl, Nelly, Tess, Kitty, and JamesJohn (JJ). She is also mourned by her brother Liam, sister-in-law Evelyn, and her many nephews, nieces, extended family, and friends.

Funeral Details:
Reposing in Townley’s Funeral Home, Crosslanes, Drogheda (A92 XN75) on Monday afternoon, June 29th, from 4:00pm until 7:00pm. (Please have consideration for local residents when parking).

Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday morning, June 30th, at 11:30am in St. Peter’s Church, West Street, Drogheda, which can be viewed live via the parish website. Burial will take place afterward in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Kathleen (Ena) Brennan, of School Lane, Dunleer, Co. Louth, passed away peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff at Le Chéile, Moorehall Lodge, Ardee, on June 27th, 2026, surrounded by her loving family, aged 90 years.

Predeceased by her parents John and Mary, her brothers Paddy, Tony, and John Francis (in infancy), and her twin sister Maura, Ena will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her brother Barry; her sisters-in-law; her nephews, nieces, grandnephews, and grandnieces; as well as her extended family, neighbours, and friends.

Funeral Details:
Ena will repose at Connor’s Funeral Home, Dunleer (A92 V38H), on Monday, June 29th, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm.

Removal will take place on Tuesday, June 30th, to Saint Brigid’s Church, Dunleer, arriving for Funeral Mass at 12:00noon. The Mass can be viewed live via the parish website. Burial will follow in Mosstown Cemetery.

Christina Burke, of Dundalk, Co. Louth, and formerly of Ballinasloe, Co. Galway, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family and in the kind and gentle care of the doctors, nurses, and staff of Curam Care Home.

Predeceased by her parents Alice and Paddy, her brother Martin, and her sisters Celia and Anne (Egan), Christina will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her brothers Willie and Pauric; her sisters Loretta, Kathleen, and Mary; her niece Orla (Egan); as well as her nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, neighbours, and her many friends, all of whom she adored.

Funeral Details:
Christina will repose at Dixon’s Funeral Home, Maxwell Row, Bridge Street, Dundalk (A91 PV07), on Monday, June 29th, from 4:00pm until 6:00pm.

A Funeral Service will take place in Dixon’s Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 30th, at 11:00am, followed by removal to Dardistown Crematorium (K67 HP26), arriving for 1:30pm.

Family flowers only, please. Christina’s family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, palliative care team, and all the staff of Curam Care Home for the exceptional care, kindness, and compassion shown to Christina. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Niall E. Kehoe, Dixons Funeral Directors.

Predeceased by his loving son Ger Murphy, Gerry was the beloved husband of Patsy and the much-loved father of Damien, Brian, Niall, Cathal, Evelyn, Sinead, Trish, Lorraine, and Rachel. A kind, gentle, and devoted family man, he will be deeply missed and forever loved by his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours, and a wide circle of friends.

Funeral Details:
Reposing at Keegan’s Funeral Home on Sunday, June 28th, from 4:30pm, with the recital of the rosary at 5:45pm. Removal will take place thereafter to SS Peter and Paul’s Church, Portlaoise, for funeral prayers at 6:30pm.

Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Monday, June 29th, at 11:00am, followed by interment in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Portlaoise. The funeral mass can be viewed live via the link below.
