Eileen Carroll (née Lloyd)

Ard Rí, Beamore Road, Drogheda, Co. Louth / Formerly Tullamore, Co. Offaly
Eileen Carroll (née Lloyd), of Ard Rí, Beamore Road, Drogheda and formerly of Tullamore, Co. Offaly, passed away peacefully in her 90th year at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, surrounded by her loving family on June 11th, 2026.

Predeceased by her infant son James, daughter Bernadette, parents Lily and Paddy, brother Sonny, and sister Maura (Flaherty), Eileen was the beloved wife of Bernard and the loving mam to John, Eilish, Helen, Dymphna, and Bernard. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her heartbroken family.

She is also deeply mourned by her sons-in-law Maurice and Henry; daughters-in-law Carmel and Martina; her cherished grandchildren Jamie, Declan, Nicole, Seán, Connor, Courtney, Sénan, JJ, and Cody; her 7 great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law Carrie; as well as her nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours, and many dear friends.

Funeral Details:
Reposing at Townley’s Funeral Home, Crosslanes, Drogheda (A92 XN75) on Sunday, June 14th, from 2:00pm until 6:00pm. Those attending the funeral home are kindly asked to park with consideration for nearby residents.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday afternoon, June 15th, at 1:30pm in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Drogheda, which can be viewed live online via the parish webcam. Burial will take place afterward in Newtown Cross Lawns Cemetery.

Paddy Woods, of Golf Links Road, Ardee, Co. Louth and formerly of Togher, Dunany, passed away peacefully on June 12th, 2026, aged 94 years, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, surrounded by his devoted wife Geraldine and family.

Paddy will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Geraldine, and his children Jimmy (Gaye), Brenda (Anthony), and Christopher (Margaret). He will be deeply missed by his heartbroken family.

He is also deeply mourned by his cherished grandchildren Kelly, Karen, and Richard; his great-grandchildren Tyler and Darcie; his brothers Jimmy and Willie; his sister Alice; as well as his extended family, neighbours, and many dear friends.

Funeral Details:
Reposing at Finlay’s Funeral Home, Tierney Street, Ardee (A92 EY88) on Saturday, June 13th, from 4:00pm until 6:00pm, and on Sunday, June 14th, from 2:00pm until 5:00pm.

The funeral cortège will leave Golf Links Road on Monday morning, June 15th, at 9:15am, walking to the Church of the Nativity of Our Lady, Ardee, arriving for Requiem Mass at 10:00am. Burial will take place afterward in Ballapousta Cemetery.

The family residence remains strictly private, please.

Christy Carolan, of College Rise, Drogheda, Co. Louth and formerly of Bellewstown, Co. Meath, passed away peacefully on June 11th, 2026, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Predeceased by his parents, his sister Dorothy, his brother Teddy, and his stepson Craig, Christy was the beloved husband of Margaret, the loving father of Rebecca and Trevor, and the dear stepfather of Elaine. He will be very sadly missed and fondly remembered by his heartbroken family.

He is also deeply mourned by his daughter-in-law Patricia; Rebecca’s partner Robert; his cherished grandchildren Nathan, Aaron, Evan, Megan, Chloe, Ryan, and Enya; his siblings Michael, Eileen, Mary, and Gerry; as well as his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours, and a wide circle of friends.

Darren (Dar) Marten, of Dundalk, Co. Louth and formerly of Lucan, Co. Dublin, passed away suddenly on June 10th, 2026.

Darren was the much-loved father of Kyle, Kacey, Nicole, and Layla. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his loving children, his parents Ray and Martina, and his sister Nicola.

He is also sadly missed by his brother-in-law Eamonn, his aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, extended family circle, and many close friends.

Funeral Details:
Removal will take place on Thursday morning, June 18th, proceeding to Newlands Cross Crematorium, Dublin, arriving for a celebration of Darren’s life at 9:50am.

Caroline Jeffers (née Gonnelly), of Marlmount, Haggardstown and formerly of Ashbrook, Dundalk, Co. Louth, passed away peacefully on June 12th, 2026, in the tender and devoted care of the staff at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, surrounded by the love and support of her family.

Predeceased by her father Patrick and her sister Marie, Caroline was the beloved wife of Ciaran, the cherished mother of Cara, Jordan, and Tiernan, and the loving daughter of Linda. She will be forever loved and sadly missed by her heartbroken family.

She is also deeply mourned by her brother Paul; her sister Alison; her mother-in-law Mabel; as well as her extended family, neighbours, and a wide circle of friends whose lives were enriched by her kindness, warmth, and gentle presence.

Funeral Details:
Reposing at McGeough’s Funeral Home, Jocelyn Street, Dundalk (A91 XW66) on Saturday, June 13th, and Sunday, June 14th, from 2:00pm until 5:00pm each day.

Removal will take place on Monday morning, June 15th, proceeding to St. Patrick’s Cathedral, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11:00am, followed afterward by a private cremation service. All enquiries to Oisin and Rosemary Rogers, McGeoughs Funerals.
