Connecting Neighbors: Free Street Feast Extravaganza Formally Announced for Castlebellingham Community Field

Vibrant community networks are set to take center stage this weekend as Castlebellingham and Kilsaran organizers reveal the official schedule for the highly anticipated, free 2026 Street Feast event.

Slated for Saturday, 30th May 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, the outdoor social gathering will transform the Community Field—located right beside the local playground. Intended as a core driver of inclusion and neighborly connection, the gathering offers a brilliant opportunity for local families across the district to unwind together at the start of the busy June Bank Holiday weekend.

📋 Event Breakdown & Guest Features

  • Woodfired Italian Fare: The celebrated duo Bruno and Stella from Casa Greetalia (based at Kennans Cross, Nannies in Togher) will be on-site baking fresh woodfired pizzas. Known throughout Mid-Louth for their frequent charity events, attendees can skip queues by pre-ordering on WhatsApp via 0871807456, selecting from Marinara (Vegan), Margherita (Veg), Pepperoni, or Ham & Mushroom options.
  • Locally Sourced Dairy: The highly popular Smyth’s Farm Dromiskin mobile unit will be parked up, offering their freshly produced local milk directly to attendees.
  • Live Musical Entertainment: The fantastic local Ukulele band—who meet bi-weekly in Byrnes Pub—will take the field from approximately 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM to provide a festive soundtrack.
  • Family & Children’s Activities: Younger attendees can enjoy professional face painting courtesy of @ursulacreates, followed by an inclusive family yoga session for both adults and kids led by local instructors starting at 3:00 PM.

Organizers are advising attendees to bring along their own picnic blankets, lawn chairs, garden games, and food boxes to share. The entire layout emphasizes a relaxed, community-focused environment where neighbors can easily trade stories and support local vendors.

⚠️ Critical Guidelines for Attendees

  • Child Safety:** In line with safety parameters, all children must be strictly supervised by parents or guardians at all times while using the field and playground layouts.
  • Waste Management:** As there are no public bins inside the immediate playground enclosure, every attendee must pack up and bring home their own rubbish to leave the field pristine.
  • Parking Allocations:** Walking to the site is highly encouraged. For those arriving by car, please utilize the parking layouts generously provided at the O’Connells GFC grounds in Castlebellingham. Please avoid parking on the lane leading directly to the playground to keep residential driveways clear.

A County of Shared Vibrancy

The grass-roots enthusiasm driving the Castlebellingham/Kilsaran Street Feast mirrors an exceptionally busy calendar of local civic highlights across Louth this season. The weekend matches up with the massive Cruinniú na nÓg youth creativity workshops sweeping our libraries, as well as the Tallanstown Ladies Mini Marathon powering local health networks.

Even our sport networks show the same passion, with the O’Connells footballers fresh off a heated Division 3 campaign against the Clans. Thanks to the strong collaboration between local organizers and the committee at O’Connells GFC, this Saturday’s Street Feast promises to be a beautiful milestone for local community integration.
