Local Notes – Ardee & Mid Louth
There was plenty happening across Ardee and Mid Louth this past week, from successful community events and club activities to important parish updates and community initiatives. St Patrick’s Day celebrations were a great success, while local clubs, groups and organisations continue to provide fantastic opportunities for people of all ages to get involved. As always, the community spirit across the area remains strong.
Ardee & Collon: St Mary’s Mourn a Stalwart; Roman History Comes to Starinagh
Ardee St Mary’s has lost a true club great with the passing of Vice President Peter McCague. A former Club Person of the Year, Peter was a tireless fundraiser and a driving force behind the club lotto. Our deepest sympathies to the McCague family.
Roman Invasion at the Military Museum
The Irish Military Museum in Collon (A92 V4k7) is going back in time on 11th and 12th July. The “Roman Weekend” will feature re-enactments by Legion Ireland, authentic weapon replicas, and a special talk by Jacqueline Cahill Wilson on the Roman presence in Ireland.
