Curtain Down and Spirits Up: Aclint Drama Group Raises Incredible €3,566 for Ardee Cancer Support
The local stage has proven to be a powerhouse for local philanthropy, as the Aclint Drama Group announced a massive donation following their recent theatrical run.
Following two highly successful nights at the Bohemian Centre, the Aclint Drama Group has handed over a check for over €3,500. The funds were raised through their production of Sam Cree’s three-act comedy, “Widows Paradise,” which brought laughter to Ardee audiences while supporting a very serious cause.
The total proceeds are being split between two vital local pillars of support: Ardee & District Cancer Support Group (Peregrine House) and Ardee Hospice Homecare CLG.
🎭 A Performance to Remember
The show, which took place on March 20th and 21st, saw the community pack the Bohemian Centre. Organizers expressed deep gratitude to:
- The dedicated cast and crew who volunteered their time for rehearsals and performance.
- The local audience members who purchased tickets and donated generously at the door.
- The volunteers at Peregrine House who continue to offer life-changing support to families in Mid-Louth.
Standing Together in Mid-Louth
This heartwarming success story comes at a time of great community activity in the town. From the **Dee Hub Walking Group’s return** to the **Ardee Tidy Towns volunteer call**, the “great talent” and spirit of Ardee continue to shine. Much like the **Darkness Into Light** walk held recently, this donation underscores the town’s commitment to healthcare and hospice services.
As Ardee prepares for new chapters—including the **major redevelopment approved for Moorehall**—it is initiatives like these from the Aclint Drama Group that maintain the close-knit fabric of our community. Their effort ensures that those facing cancer in our district never have to walk the path alone.
