There was plenty happening across Ardee and Mid Louth this past week, from successful community events and club activities to important parish updates and community initiatives. St Patrick’s Day celebrations were a great success, while local clubs, groups and organisations continue to provide fantastic opportunities for people of all ages to get involved. As always, the community spirit across the area remains strong.

🏛 Military Museum is a Must Visit
The Irish Military Museum in Collon is a must-visit destination this year, with exciting events planned for all ages.
On July 11th and 12th, visitors will step back in time to explore the world of Ancient Rome. Experience the Roman army in training, discover life inside a Roman fort, and view authentic replicas of weapons, armour, and everyday tools. Legion Ireland re-enactors will bring this fascinating era vividly to life.
Also not to be missed is the Collon Living History Festival on May 16th and 17th. Admission includes museum entry, with family-friendly pricing available.

Mary Duff in Wales
The popular “Mary Duff & Friends Weekend” returns from June 26th to 29th, 2026 at the Grand Hotel, Llandudno. A fantastic weekend of music and entertainment is guaranteed.

Inclusion at Ardee RFC
Ardee Rugby Club continues to lead the way with inclusive training sessions for children aged 6–16 with additional needs. A fantastic initiative promoting participation and belonging.
Youth Groups Expanding
The Dee Hub and New Leaf Youth Group have relaunched their drop-in sessions and youth cafés across Ardee and Dunleer, with plans to expand further into North East Meath.

The club continues to grow, welcoming new members of all ages. Nursery training begins April 11th, and volunteers are always welcome.
